The End Of Days

or at least the end of days in Lacrosse. After Kari had left with Austin back to Germany, Alex, Anton and Bart had a few days left before returning back to Germany as well. Durning this time the dessision was made to show the children the highlights of the are in which their parents grew up. So. we travelled through-out the area taking in the sights.

This was a favorite spot of Barts childhood. Lyghtholds Bridge(sp) an old railroad bridge, now part of a bike trail, over the Black River. Enjoyed jumping off as a child but only climbed down to the sandbar below this day.

The town of Onalaska, home of 'sunfish days'.

Here is lock and dam #7, as seen from the Minnesota side. One of the systems to help regulate the Mississippi River.

Also took a trip to city brewery, La crosse's brewery. here the kids look into one of the historic kettels that are no longer in use.

GRAND DADS BLUFF

our trip then took us to the famous Bluff of Lacrosse, the very spot that Kari ask Bart to forever be her love slave. (sometimes the German to English translations come out a bit different)

Alex @ granddads bluff.

Anton @ granddads bluff.

No trip would be complete without a trip down to riverside park and boarding the La Crosse Queen on one of her majistic tours up and down the Mississippi River.

IF YOU KNOW THE GROOM YOU'LL UNDERSTAND THAT

Week three of our vacation started off with the wedding of my best man. (had to return the favor) So here is a couple of photos from the big day, after all this is the main reason for the June visit.

Greg and Bart getting down on the dance floor.

A picture of the bride, groom, and the grooms mother.

Greg gets confused and goes up my leg for the garter. This was his wifes idea not mine.

A pic of our family at the wedding, with Pappa and Grandma.

Had to include a photo of Kari and her friends here as well, being the friend section and all.

Door County, Wisconsin

The second half of week 2 my family rented a 5 bedroom home in Door County, Wisconsin. Pappa, Grandma, all 3 children with there other halves, and 8 grandchildren. We enjoyed mountain biking, campfires, state parks boatrides, and shopping.

My brothers on the boat ride to Washington Island.

Anton on Washington Island.

The light house at a state park in Door County. (dont ask me the name)

Alex and 2 of her cousins play on the beach, and in the water.

One of the nights we went out for a 'fish boil'. This is a big event in Door County, they boil the fish over a big fire then you get to eat it. Lots of bones and not much for sides. A great experience that should be tried ONCE.

June week 2

After spending a week at Kari's parents home we then travelled to Bart's home. we then went to a park for some family photos, followed up by a trip up to Door County, Wisconsin. Along the way we did have to stop at Lambeau Feild and the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame.

Our family.

My brothers Troy and Dirk (and myself).

The daughter-in-laws try to get into the family will. Guess we all know now where the Bruley Boy's get all that charm from.

June

As I'm sure most of you know that June was a very busy month for us. We took a small vacation back to Wisconsin to visit our family and friends and also for my good friends Greg's wedding. We did alot there and it will take a while to cover it all so I will try to do it in steps covering a little bit ever day. (or so)

After meeting up with each other (we flew seperatly due to cost of flights and dates we had to return) we finally ended at Kari's folks home. where we meet with all her relitives, played in backyard (watersports and fireworks) campfires, and even took all the children (Katie and her family were there as well) to the childrens museum in La crosse.

Grandpa made the Kids big breakfast every day.

Kari trys a sexy pose on a rather large body part.

Grandpa bought a special pool for the kids to play in.

Hanging out in the backyard with the mosquitoes. (and pests)
