Alex Starts School

As many of you know September was a very exciting month for us. But the truely biggest highlight of them all was Alex starting first grade in the German School. This is a very big to-do here and an all day event. It starts off at the local church then everyone parades down to the school were they sing and dance and all the other school children put on a big show/celebration to welcome them. Then they are assigned to there classrooms (a big disapointment for All Alex's friends were in the other class) the children went to meet there teacher/room and the parents hung around outside to enjoy some German refreshments. It was a great experience for us all and now will give Alex a chance to become friends with the other half of town (because thats what schools for anyhow, right?).
